Meet The Team
Let’s start the conversation…
Moving to Teesside Works in 1994 I implemented vibration monitoring across all departments of the works and allied sites. In 1998 I joined AV Technology. After spending a year at Humber refinery as interim technical specialist, where I managed the reinstatement of a centralised monitoring team, I became a Senior Consultant, diagnosing problems with and providing in-situ balancing services for offshore Oil and Gas compressors and generation sets, as well as troubleshooting a variety of onshore machinery.
Leaving AVT in 2010, I founded Pragmatic Maintenance and Reliability, initially working on a freelance basis, solving vibration problems in the UK North Sea, offshore West Africa, and the Arabian Gulf, leading the implementation of a condition monitoring programmme across the Seafield and Almond Valley sewage works and balancing one of the 787 tonne flywheel generators at the UKAEA’s Culham JET Fusion site.
I am ISO certified Cat IV Vibration analyst and have extensive practical experience in thermography, oil analysis, passive ultrasound, acoustic emission, and motor current signature analysis.
I have had many roles at Pragmatic including administration, accounts, equipment sourcing and maintenance. I always enjoy a challenge and we have had many over the last 13 years.
When not at work I enjoy walking our two rescue dogs, walking, art, and sailing.
I went on to spend some time working overseas in Australia, predominantly condition monitoring in mining projects, and continued working within the reliability sector when returning to the UK in 2013. I joined Pragmatic in July 2018 and I manage a reliability and lubrication programme at INEOS Compounds where Pragmatic have been working together with their maintenance team since 2016.
Those who know me, call me an all-rounder. I worked for four years in France in industrial maintenance doing bespoke design and repairs and transitioned to project management for video projects and automatic Incident detection on motorways.
I came back to the UK in 1996 and enjoyed design and PLC programming for bollard projects in London at APT, SCADA, and PLC software for a lime kiln in beautiful Buxton at RMC Aggregates, and combined test of traction system for trains at ALSTOM transport. While raising my 2 boys, I worked part-time for a consultancy in Education but also translating technical French papers and teaching French to the local preschoolers.
After joining Pragmatic in 2015 I have extended my expertise as a reliability engineer – I am now VA3 certified, and I love spectrum analysis! I am also leading the development of wireless sensor systems within Pragmatic.
